would like to obtain my Italian Citizenship !
I have a few questions and would love your input on obtaining my Italian Citizenship !
A little about my families history.
My parents came here from Italy in their early 20′s around 1955.
At that time, I believe my mother was a dual citizen, Italian / US.
My dad was only an Italian citizen, served in the Italian navy, etc.
I am 52 years of age and was born in 1957.
Both my parents have since passed away.
Before my dad’s death, he became a US citizen.
It was one of his goals.
My understanding is, that due to the fact that I was born while my dad was an Italian Citizen and before he became a US citizen, I can obtain my Italian Citizenship.
My home state is Florida.
My q’s are;
Is this true ?
How long does it typically take ?
Is it something you can help with ?
How and where do I get the documents that are eq’d ??
In general, what are your thoughts ?
